Club constitution April 2012.
Name
The name of the organisation shall be the Wansbeck & Cramlington
Angling Club, hereafter referred to as the Club.
The aim of the Club shall be to develop and encourage coarse
fishing in the area, to improve and manage fisheries; wherever
possible to protect and encourage wildlife and prevent trespass
and vandalism. The Club shall be known as a coarse fishing club
only.
Membership.
Adult members only, will have the power to vote at General
Meetings concerning amendments to the Club constitution, junior
members, those aged under sixteen on the day of application, do
not have voting rights. Membership shall be at the discretion of
the committee. No person, unless a current member of the Club,
shall have any claim on Club trophies, prizes, etc. Anyone who
has been before the committee for disciplinary action and found
to be guilty should not be able to stand as a club official or
represent the club for the term of 3 years; also the club
membership should be told of any bans, of any period, that has
been issued against any guilty members who break the rules. All
disciplinary hearings will be recorded on tape or digital
device.
Management.
Management of the Club shall be in the hands of the Committee,
which will consist of the following; Chairman, Vice-Chairman,
Treasurer, Secretary and Membership Secretary , who will form
the Executive Committee, and other committee members all
elected by the Club members at each General Meeting. Executive
Committee Members to hold office for periods of two years. Any
committee post after the AGM, must be advertised at least 1
month in advance at a general meeting and voted for at the next
general meeting by the membership. There is no restraint
as to how many or how few candidates members can vote for when
voting for committee members at an AGM. A quorum of five will
constitute a Committee meeting. Two Committee Members other than
the Treasurer will audit financial records yearly. No Committee
Member shall be a member of any other Freshwater Angling Club
Committee. A member must have completed at least one year’s
service on the committee within the last two current years to be
eligible for election on to the executive committee.
Subscriptions.
The annual Subscriptions will be due on 1st January each year
and will last for one calendar year, or in the event of a member
joining part way through the year, the remainder of the calendar
year. The yearly subscription will rise automatically by a
minimum of £1.00 per year. The Senior Membership will decide the amounts of various
subscriptions, at Annual or Extraordinary General Meetings.
Members, who do not renew their subscriptions between 1st
January and 31st March of the New Year, must reapply to the
Committee, who will consider each application. Members who have
not paid their subscriptions will not be allowed to fish Club
waters.
Meetings.
An annual General Meeting will be held in April each year
(beginning 2010) and a minimum of two weeks notice advising of
date and venue must be given to members. An extraordinary
General Meeting of the Club may be called by the Committee, or
the Secretary, upon receipt of a requisition signed by no fewer
than twenty members of the Club. As with the General Meeting at
least two weeks notice must be given. General Meetings are to be
held at a time and place decided by the Committee. The Committee
are to use whatever means are available to bring to the
attention of the membership any forthcoming meetings and events.
A quorum of fifteen will constitute a General Meeting. In the
event that the Club acquires new waters, rules applicable to
those waters will be drawn up as necessary by the Committee.
Expulsion of members.
Members of the club whose conduct is inappropriate or who
decline to abide by any of the rules or by-laws may be expelled
or suspended by a resolution passed at a meeting of the
committee where their entrance fee and subscriptions may be
forfeited. The committee is obliged to ask for two non-committee
members to attend such a meeting to see that fair play is
exercised. Members shall have the right to appeal in person to the
committee with regard to any decision affecting them, provided
that notice of such an appeal is submitted to the committee in
writing, within seven days of notification of the decision.
Dissolution of the club.
If at any Extraordinary General Meeting of the club, a
resolution be passed calling for the dissolution of the club,
the secretary shall immediately convene an Extraordinary General
Meeting of the club to be held no less than one month thereafter
to discuss and vote on the resolution. If at the Extraordinary
General Meeting, the resolution is carried by two thirds of the
full members present at the meeting, the committee shall
thereupon or at such date as shall have been specified in the
resolution, proceed to realize the assets of the club and
discharge all debts and liabilities of the club. After
discharging all debts and liabilities of the club, the remaining
assets shall not be distributed amongst the full members of the
club, but shall be given or transferred to other voluntary
organizations having objectives similar to those of the club
(Tyne Anglers Alliance, Anglers Conservation Association or
similar).
